Affecta is an organic sculptural presence—inhabiting space with quiet intensity, whether illuminated or at rest. 3D-printed in SLS material and conceived as a luminous object, Affecta embodies the vulnerability and transformation that comes with caring for others beyond oneself.

Its form is porous and gentle, inviting a soft, shifting play of light across its surface. Yet, as you approach, the edges reveal their sharpness—a tactile reminder of the rupture between interior softness and the resilient shell we build to protect ourselves. The work’s LED core flickers within this tension: a subtle interplay of light, shadow, and emotion.

Affecta continues atelierJJX’s ongoing investigation into how digital processes, sculptural form, and lived experience intersect. The piece stands as a meditation on the thresholds between self and other, protection and exposure, and the complex beauty of opening up to connection.
